Insurance questions

Clear answers before treatment

Can I use my private health insurance at Nexus?

During booking, you can choose from the insurers available online. Your cover still depends on your plan, treatment location and chosen physiotherapist.

Will I have to pay anything?

No upfront payment is taken when booking. If your insurer confirms an excess applies, you may need to pay it. Cover and any shortfall depend on your policy.

Do I need a referral or insurer reference?

Requirements vary by insurer. Many policies do not need a GP referral, but most insured treatment requires authorisation. If you do not have a code yet, use the booking guide for insurer contacts and a clear call prompt.

What do I need before my first insurance appointment?

Bring your membership or policy number and insurer reference. Wear comfortable clothing that lets your physiotherapist assess the area causing trouble. Any relevant reports or letters you already have can be helpful; bring a referral only if your insurer requires one.

What happens after I book?

Your appointment is booked immediately, and you will receive your booking confirmation. Nexus checks your cover with your insurer and contacts you only if there is an issue.

How do cashback plans work?

Book as self-pay and pay online. We provide a paid itemised invoice after payment. Claim after treatment according to your cover. Check your plan's receipt requirements and contact us if you need further treatment or clinician details.

Are your physiotherapists HCPC registered?

Yes. Our physiotherapists are HCPC registered. If your plan needs the treating clinician's details for a claim, contact the clinic.
