How to refer a medico-legal physiotherapy case

Refer one case or discuss an ongoing arrangement. Tell us whether you need rehabilitation, a standalone treating-physio report or separately instructed expert evidence. We will check availability and provide a quote, then explain how to send the formal instruction securely.

First contact

Start with the service you need

The public service enquiry

Give your name, organisation, contact details and a broad outline of the assessment, treatment or report requested. Include your expected timescale and who should respond.

Do not include a patient name, date of birth, records or case documents in this public form.

The formal instruction

Once the service and quote are agreed, the team will explain how to provide patient identifiers, clinical information and instruction documents through the secure route. We can then review the case and arrange the next steps for care or reporting.

Discuss the instruction

Your quote and instruction

Clear treatment, reporting and payer terms

We make the scope and price clear before work starts. Your first enquiry only needs professional contact details and broad service requirements.

Case contact

Identify the case handler, who approves further work and who receives case updates.

Payer and terms

Your quote identifies the responsible payer, invoicing route and payment terms before work starts.

Treatment scope

Set out the assessment and rehabilitation requested, authorised visits or budget, and how further treatment is approved.

Reporting

Routine initial, interim and discharge reports are included in standard rehabilitation packages. Agree recipients and dates; detailed additional, report-only or CPR Part 35 expert work is quoted separately.

Any additional treatment or reporting needs approval before work starts. Existing client agreements continue to apply.

From agreed scope to patient care

Formal referral and patient booking follow the agreed service scope. Clinical findings and updates are handled through the reporting arrangements accepted for that case.

Formal instruction checklist and timescales

View current clinic locations. The team confirms the appointment location and service availability for your instruction.

  1. 01

We check clinical suitability, appointment location and availability, then provide the scope, price and proposed dates for your approval.

  2. 02

We explain how to send the formal instruction and necessary patient and case documents securely.

  3. 03

Once the instruction is accepted, we arrange patient contact and booking, with reports and updates through the agreed route.

Next step

Discuss the service you need

Tell us your professional contact details and the broad service, reporting and timing requirements. Please keep patient and case identifiers out of the public enquiry.
