Support for the next stage of recovery.

Recovering from an operation can make ordinary activities feel unfamiliar. Home physiotherapy focuses on what you need to manage in your own surroundings, alongside the rehabilitation guidance from your surgical team.

Who is home post-surgery rehabilitation for?

  • Adults recovering after joint replacement or other orthopaedic surgery.
  • People who need help with everyday movement during their recovery.
  • People with a rehabilitation plan from their surgical team who want support putting it into practice at home.

What happens at your visit?

We discuss your operation, the guidance you have been given and the activities you find difficult. Assessment and treatment are adapted to your stage of recovery. We explain what we can work on together and agree a practical plan that respects your surgical instructions.

How physiotherapy can help

  • Review your surgical instructions and understand how you are managing at home.
  • Work on appropriate movement, strength and everyday activities.
  • Agree exercises and practical goals, then review them as your needs change.
Before we arrive
  • Have your discharge summary and any surgical restrictions or exercise instructions ready.
  • Keep your usual walking aids available and tell us about steps or access needs when arranging the visit.

Self-pay, insurance or a health cash plan?

Self-pay & health cash plans

Standard home visits are £120 for 60 minutes. Pay online when booking and receive a paid itemised invoice.

Using a health cash plan

You can use it to claim according to your cash-plan cover. Check home-visit eligibility, limits and requirements with your provider first.

Private medical insurance

You can book eligible home visits online. Your insurer must cover home treatment with the treating physiotherapist.

What to have ready

Have your membership or policy number and authorisation, care or claim reference ready. Clinic recognition alone does not establish home-visit cover; an excess or shortfall may apply.

Questions before arranging care

When should I arrange a visit?

Contact us with the type and date of your operation and any instructions you have received. We can discuss suitability and the next step; the right timing depends on your individual recovery.

Can you work with my existing rehabilitation plan?

Yes. Bring the guidance you already have so it can be considered during the assessment. Any restrictions or instructions from your surgical team need to be respected.

Will I need a set number of sessions?

We discuss follow-up care after understanding your needs. You do not have to commit to a fixed course before your first assessment.

Clinic, solicitor or employer referrals

Clinic appointments are at our Newham clinic in Plaistow. A home-area guide is not another clinic location.

For professional home referrals, agree suitability, location, funding and reporting with the team first. A normal online booking does not establish an agency or employer agreement.
