Mobility & balance at home
Assess walking, strength and balance in your own surroundings, then agree practical exercises and next steps for the everyday movements you find difficult.
Appointments depend on your address, travel and our diary.
Coverage details
Area pages help you plan a visit; they do not guarantee coverage for every address. We check your exact visit address, travel and clinician availability before showing appointment times.
Focus on the movements that matter.
If walking, getting up or moving around has become more difficult, a home appointment gives us a useful picture of everyday life. We start with your abilities, your concerns and the activities you would like to manage more confidently.
Who is home mobility and balance care for?
- Adults who find walking, standing up or moving around the home difficult.
- People who want to work on strength and balance for everyday tasks.
- People using a walking aid who would like their movement assessed in familiar surroundings.
What happens at your visit?
We talk about what has changed, your health history and any walking aids or support you use. Your assessment may include everyday movements such as standing up and walking, where appropriate. Together, we agree the priorities and explain the next steps.
How physiotherapy can help
- Assess your movement, strength and balance in relation to daily tasks.
- Practise appropriate activities in the spaces where you use them.
- Agree manageable exercises and review progress towards your personal goals.
Before we arrive
- Keep your usual walking aid and everyday footwear available.
- Tell us which activities or parts of your home are difficult, and whether a relative or carer will join with your agreement.
Self-pay, insurance or a health cash plan?
Self-pay & health cash plans
Standard home visits are £120 for 60 minutes. Pay online when booking and receive a paid itemised invoice.
Using a health cash plan
You can use it to claim according to your cash-plan cover. Check home-visit eligibility, limits and requirements with your provider first.
Private medical insurance
You can book eligible home visits online. Your insurer must cover home treatment with the treating physiotherapist.
What to have ready
Have your membership or policy number and authorisation, care or claim reference ready. Clinic recognition alone does not establish home-visit cover; an excess or shortfall may apply.
Questions before arranging care
Can the visit focus on walking around my home?
Yes. Tell us which activities or spaces you find difficult. We can include suitable everyday movements in the assessment and plan.
Can a family member be present?
Yes, with your agreement. They can listen to the advice and ask questions, particularly if they help you between appointments.
Is this specialist neurological physiotherapy?
This page describes general adult mobility and balance care. We also offer neurological physiotherapy; tell us about your condition and the care you need so we can discuss the appropriate service.

Clinic, solicitor or employer referrals
Clinic appointments are at our Newham clinic in Plaistow. A home-area guide is not another clinic location.
For professional home referrals, agree suitability, location, funding and reporting with the team first. A normal online booking does not establish an agency or employer agreement.
Ready to arrange your visit?
Self-pay or eligible private insurance. Check the visit address and available times.
