Running and Knee Injury Clinic near Bow
Understand knee symptoms in the context of your running and rebuild tolerance for training.
Care shaped around your goals
Knee pain can appear after a change in distance, pace, terrain or strength work. We review your symptoms and running history, then agree which activity you can keep doing and how to build back gradually.
When an assessment may help
- Knee pain linked to running or impact activity
- Overuse symptoms limiting training consistency
- Runners returning from injury interruption
- Active adults needing structured return-to-running guidance
Your physiotherapy appointment
- Running and knee-focused assessment
- Load and cadence-aware rehabilitation planning
- Strength and tissue-capacity progression
- Structured return-to-running progression milestones
How your rehabilitation progresses
Load and symptom review
We ask what changed in training, when symptoms appear and how the knee responds afterwards. The assessment also considers strength and movement relevant to running.
Rehabilitation and capacity build
Rehab progresses with targeted strength, control, and load tolerance work.
Return-to-running execution
We agree a manageable return-to-running approach and revisit symptoms, daily function and training response before increasing load.
Your visit from Bow
The route starts at Bow Road station. Bow Church DLR or your own address may suit you better. Compare the complete journey to the leisure centre, rather than assuming nearby stations have the same route.
For a visit before or after work, plan from the place you will actually leave that day. If you need to bring work or sports clothing for assessment, allow time to change before the appointment.
What to prepare before travelling
- Bring your running shoes and a summary of recent distance, pace and terrain.
- Note how the knee feels during a run, afterwards and the following day.
- Tell us about strength training and any previous injury or rehabilitation.
Directions use an example starting point, not a guaranteed travel time. Check current routes and access requirements before setting off.
Before you book
Is this only for experienced runners?
No. The assessment can help people starting running, returning after a break or training regularly. We adapt the discussion and rehabilitation to your current activity and goals. It is a physiotherapy appointment, not a promise of a full laboratory gait analysis.
Choose how you pay
Self-pay or health cash plan
A 30-minute physiotherapy appointment is £60. You do not need a GP referral to book self-pay. If claiming through a cash plan, check eligibility and receipt requirements with your provider first.
Private health insurance
Check that your plan covers your condition, the Newham clinic and your chosen physiotherapist. Have your authorisation details ready; cover and any excess depend on your policy.
