Modern slavery: our approach
People should be able to work and receive services without exploitation, coercion or abuse. This page explains the conduct Nexus expects from people and organisations involved in its services, and how a concern can be raised.
Respectful work and business relationships
Forced labour, human trafficking and other forms of modern slavery are unacceptable. Our expectation is that people providing services do so freely and that business relationships respect workers' dignity and legal rights. This applies to how people are treated, not just to the wording of a supplier's policy.
- Work must not depend on threats, confinement, coercion or the improper withholding of personal documents.
- Payment, recruitment and working arrangements should be clear and lawful.
- Concerns about exploitation should be taken seriously, including concerns affecting people outside the clinic.
Raising a concern safely
If a concern relates to Nexus or an organisation involved in our services, contact the clinic through info@nexusphysio.co.uk or the contact page. Explain the concern using the minimum information needed. Do not put yourself or another person at risk by confronting someone you suspect of exploitation.
- If someone is in immediate danger, contact the emergency services rather than waiting for a clinic reply.
- You can report suspected exploitation to the appropriate authorities; using the clinic's contact route is not a condition of making an external report.
- If you are concerned about how a matter is handled, use the complaints procedure or an appropriate external route.
